The single malt Miyagikyo bottling represents the perfect expression of the distillery's delicate character, with an emphasis on ex-sherry casks for maturation to bring added depth to this whisky's natural charm. He aimed to make a complete contrast between the two distilleries, Miyagikyo and Yoichi, with different natural environments and production methods. Miyagikyo Distillery was Nikka's second built in Japan in Sendai, a very picturesque mountainous region.
